What it is Ozone Disinfection
Ozone disinfection is a water treatment method that reduces contaminants through ozone’s oxidative strength. Ozone is a very strong oxidant and virucide, which makes it a powerful and effective disinfectant that targets and eliminates harmful microorganisms (viruses, molds, and bacteria), as well as organic and inorganic compounds (metal ions, plastics and rubbers). This process provides a reliable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants, ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water and wastewater.
How it works
Generating Ozone
Ozone is generated on-site using specialized ozone generators that convert oxygen (O₂) from the air into ozone (O₃) through high-voltage electricity or ultraviolet light.
Water Interaction
The generated ozone is then injected into water, and immediately starts oxidizing and eliminating contaminants, such as bacteria, viruses, and metals.
Decomposition
After the disinfection is complete, ozone quickly decomposes back into oxygen, leaving no harmful residues and ensuring water safety.
Applicable Industries
Key Features
Chemical Free
Ozone water treatment is an environmentally friendly solution as it does not add chemicals to water. No pollutants are created in the ozone water treatment process, and any wastewater produced is safe to enter waterways and drains.
Speed
Ozone water treatment is incredibly fast. Most water treatment systems require extended contact time to eliminate or reduce contaminants, but ozone works in mere seconds.
Improved Water Quality
In addition to disinfection, ozone helps remove organic materials, color, and taste issues, resulting in clearer, better-tasting water.
Versatility
Ozone can be used for various applications, including industrial and agricultural wastewater, drinking water treatment, hydraulic fracking water, vertical farming, etc.
